| Abstract | As commercial event cameras are maturing, we present a wearable demonstrator for assessment of headborne augmented vision applications. The demonstrator is an untethered testbed that allows the user to: 1- perceive event-based stereopsis with a head-mounted display and experience 3D immersion in event-based phenomenology; 2- record stereo events along with boresighted multiband cameras in order to build custom datasets of mobile scenarios. This paper describes our demonstrator and presents a laboratory validation of event-based stereopsis perception. A synthetic stereo approach is then proposed using a single event camera as a low-cost alternative for 3D immersion. Potential applications are discussed. |
