| Abstract | In order to protect the VTOL fan rig in the event of a fan or torquemeter failure, an overspeed trip was necessary. This memorandum describes an electronic overspeed trip designed to give the required protection, and which may be applied to any installation where an electrical output may be produced by a suitable generator driven by the shaft transmitting the power. |
