| Abstract | A description is given of a torque measuring system in which the phase shift between the ends of a loaded shaft is determined by means of toothed wheels and magnetic pick-ups.
The results of rig tests and of tests carried out with the system installed in the drive-line of a 12 in. dia. model VTOL fan are discussed.
It was concluded that torque measurements, repeatable to an accuracy of ± 2 percent, are possible with this system. |
