Abstract
This paper summarizes the state of lighting research. It discusses the move from lighting for vision to an integrated model of lighting quality. It describes the new research model and provides several examples of recent findings from studies based on this broader view of lighting, and it provides suggestions for advancing the knowledge of lighting quality.
