| Abstract | The International Commission on Illumination (known by its French initials as the CIE) is home to the global community of light and lighting experts, providing a forum for open discussion and interchange on scientific fundamentals such as vision, colour, the metrology of optical radiation, photobiology, and photochemistry, as well as on lighting applications indoors, outdoors, and in image technology. It is recognized by the CIPM as the authority on the action spectra to describe biological responses to optical radiation, and by the ISO and IEC as the source of international standards within its scope. CIE members are national committees formed by the lighting communities in their countries, and Canada has had a Canadian National Commmittee of the CIE (CNC/CIE) for over 65 years. Join us to hear more about the activities of the CIE. |
