Abstract
This paper reports the results and conclusions from ice- dusting experiments designed to increase the natural melting rate of snow and ice covers. Trials were conducted using different dusting materials and techniques under a variety of climatic conditions. From these field trials the possible value of ice dusting as a means of advancing break- up or of increasing the rate at which a snow cover melts is assessed.
