Abstract
The formability of cold-rolled low-carbon aluminium killed steel sheets depends on the recrystallization behaviour during batch annealing. For a .04% Al steel and 40% cold reduction, the resulting high yield stresses are explained by a two stage recrystallization behaviour. A simple model is proposed to predict the yield stress and recrystallization anomalies using mainly the Al content of the steel, the cold reduction percentage and a thermal parameter characterizing the annealing treatment.
