Abstract
In order to predict a ship's behaviour in extreme seas, it is helpful to measure the actual motions and propulsion parameters at sea. This paper describes a data acquisition system which was used by IMD to collect this data aboard a Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) tanker, the M. V. Nordic Apollo. The tanker is operated by LASMO Nova Scotia Ltd. on its Cohasset/Panuke oil field off of Sable Island, N.S.
