| Abstract | Many services are being performed by torquemeters. Some examples are dynamometers, measurement of viscosity, pump testing, aircraft propellers and helicopter rotor assemblies. There are hundreds of other similar applications in both design and production testing fields.
This report concerns the implementation of photo-pickups to measure the torque transmitted by the turbine to the 12" dia VTOL fan. A preliminary study of the photo-pickups' characteristics was made before going into the torque measuring experiment. This would yield information for the most efficient way of setting up the torquemeter. |
