| Abstract | A hydraulic model was constructed to investigate the wave action in Kincardine Harbour. The response of the harbour to the prevailing wave spectrum was determined with the model. The results showed that the harbour did not provide adequate protection for certain wave frequencies and wave directions.
A remedial scheme was proposed in two parts. The first scheme involved the construction of wave resonators in the approach channel to the harbour, these were designed to reflect the wave energy entering the harbour. The second involved the construction of a rubble mound breakwater in the harbour to dissipate the energy reaching the main basin of the harbour. |
