Abstract | The development of a new lamellar powder metallurgy process to optimize soft magnetic properties for low frequency AC applications is described. This material shows good magnetic properties as well as high mechanical strength compared to conventional resin bonded powder soft magnetic composites. Based on lamellar shaped particulates, each step of the process is presented and discussed. Flow behaviour and die filling characteristics of these lamellar material and green properties of parts made by using an industrial compaction press are presented. |
