| Abstract | The instrumenting of a diesel locomotive for research and development purposes was examined and research of contemporary relevant work is included for reference.
Possible technical benefits of the maintenance monitoring aspect are considered and financial savings for a 1,000 locomotive operation expressed in terms of magnitude.
This, together with the degree of technical consideration thought appropriate to the proposal stage, is intended to display the feasibility of the project. |
