| Abstract | In this paper, the development and current status of SX superalloys and SX casting processes are reviewed for aero-engines and for industrial gas turbines respectively. Directions for future research and development in the SX technologies are discussed. Some other potential areas related to improving the performance of SX turbine blades are also briefly summarized. |
