| Abstract | Methods of data acquisition during the Uniform Engine Test Program varied among the participants. Stabilization of engine operation upon reaching a given power setting could therefore affect comparisons of engine performance between various facilities. Several engine parameters were recorded for nine minutes at 12 samples per second. Standard deviation and mean values were calculated over several time periods and durations. Significant degradation in data quality is likely to result from stabilization periods of less than 4 to 5 minutes. |
