| Abstract | The objectives of the Uniform Engine Test Program, as perceived by the National Research Council Canada, are as follows:
(a) to compare and evaluate test cell instrumentation and data acquisition, reduction, and presentation techniques of the participants;
(b) to rationalize and correlate test data, obtained from designated engines, between participating test cells;
(c) to establish and quantify test cell effects on engine performance when operated over large excursions of engine power settings; and
(d) to evolve reliable methods for correlating test results between altitude and sea-level facilities.
As a result of the UET Program, the NRCC expects to have its testing techniques critically assessed by other participants, the end result being a gas turbine engine test cell of known performance, in relation to other NATO test facilities. |
