| Abstract | Flight tests were performed in an icing cloud on a Sud-Aviation Alouette III helicopter equipped with electrothermal rotor blade de-icing. The de-icing system operated satisfactorily down to the minimum ambient temperature experienced during the trials. Modifications to the engine inlet anti-icing system proved satisfactory. The Alouette III helicopter powered by the Artouste IIIB engine is now considered satisfactory for operation in icing down to a temperature of -25°C. |
