| Abstract | Vibration analysis has been a well-established program for the CH124 Sea King helicopter since 1979. A procedure was introduced at SPAR in 1987 to carry out vibration measurements and analysis of the CH124 main gearbox. A review of this procedure was conducted, including a re-evaluation of SPAR requirements to perform the procedure and a detailed evaluation of the technique used. A completely new procedure was developed, and new vibration level limits were calculated.
SPAR vibration analysis troubleshooting capability is briefly discussed, and the requirements and advantages to conduct a study on the application of advanced vibration analysis techniques for the quality assurance of main gearboxes after repair are addressed. |
