Abstract | We observe a memory in nonlinear ionization of transparent solids- reduction in ionization threshold with number of laser pulses. Self-organized nanostructures can form because of the positive feedback and local field effects when ultrashort laser pulses are focused inside glass. It provides a positive feedback, lowering the ionization threshold. |
