| Abstract | Summary form only given, as follows. The complete presentation was not made available for publication as part of the conference proceedings. The National Research Council (NRC) and the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) are planning to set up a system for accrediting secondary calibration laboratories. To join the system, laboratories will have to demonstrate the ability to make accurate calibrations traceable to national measurement standards. The aim is to serve industry, commerce and trade by providing a national system of measurement standards compatible with those of Canada's international trading partners. The system, to be known as the Canadian Calibration Network, will be coordinated closely with the SCC National Accreditation Program for Testing Organizations (NAPTO) and the Facility Recognition Program of the Department of National Defence. The presentation will give details on the progress made on the implementation of the network. |
