| Abstract | Extensive study by the Division of the expansive reactivity shown by dolomitic limestone from Kingston when used as the coarse aggregate in concrete has led to a reasonably complete picture of the performance of the aggregate. Studies are being made of the chemical and mineralogical compositions of rock from beds at various depths in one of the quarries, in the hope that some correspondence between composition and reactivity may be found which will indicate more clearly the role which composition may play in the reaction. The chemical analyses which have been carried out are now reported and examined. |
