Abstract | This paper presents the computational market of SIGMA (System of Information Gathering Market-based Agents) as a model of decentralized decision making for the task of information filtering in multi-dimensional spaces as the Usenet Netnews. Different learning and adaptation techniques are integrated within SIGMA for creating a robust network-based application which adapts to both changes in the characteristics of the information available on the network as well as to changes in individual users' information interests. The functionality of the system is discussed together with work underway for its evaluation. |
