Abstract
The results of four types of tests are analysed - mandrel flexibility test, abrasion test, corrosion resistance test and accelerated weathering test. With the last two types, the effectiveness of different tests in reproducing natural deterioration is analysed. The precision of the tests in predicting the degree of acceptability of coatings for a given purpose is established on the basis of the degree of correlation with natural exposure. The prerequisites for satisfactory use of accelerated tests are studied.
