Abstract
Heterodyning a passively Q-switched CO₂ laser against a stable cw CO₂ laser produced a ~0.2-MHz-wide beat frequency. The line width of the Q-switched CO₂ laser is thus sufficiently narrow to stabilize the laser on the Lamb dip in the 4.3-μm fluorescence of CO₂.
