Abstract | The structural elements of a building most likely to deteriorate are those directly or indirectly exposed to the weather. This includes parking garages, balconies and cladding on buildings. The Structures Laboratory has a research program addressing the latter aspect - the structural durability of the building envelope. The emphasis is on how the building geometry and the environment interact to create sites ocnducive to material damage such as corrosion. |
