Abstract | This report describes a set of irregular wave seakeeping experiments carried out as part of the Fishing Vessel Safety Project on a 1:10.67 scale model of the 65 ft (19.81 m) long fishing vessel CCGA Roberts Sisters II, designated IOT761, in the Institute for Ocean Technology (IOT) Offshore Engineering Basin (OEB) during the months of July and August 2009. The data obtained over the course of these experiments was used to determine various vessel motions at a variety of vessel headings and speeds. The objective of these experiments was to acquire quality model scale seakeeping data to validate numerical prediction software under development at Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN) as well as correlate it with the full-scale data. |
