Abstract | Hypothermia therapy improves histological and behavioral outcomes and mortality following global cerebral ischemia in animals and humans. This therapy has potent anti-inflammatory effects but the anti-inflammatory mechanisms are not completely understood. We explored the effect of hypothermia therapy on inflammatory gene transcription and leukocyte recruitment and adhesion in cerebral microvessels following global cerebral ischemia in the mouse. |
