Abstract | This report documents the performance and the other pertinent information about the 2D and 1D photonic bandgap devices developed at the Integrated Manufacturing Technologies Institute of the National Research Council of Canada. These devices were developed for integration in the electromagnetic communication systems, mainly using the microwave and the millimetre wavelength range frequencies, to improve the performance of host devices in various ways. The two-dimensional devices are more versitile but in some cases 1D devices are more suitable. The hybrid devices, incorporating the 2D and 1D devices are considerably more versatile. |
