Abstract | World-wide interest in the use of fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) reinforcement in concrete structures, as an alternative to traditional steel reinforcement, has increased significantly in recent years. FRP reinforcement offers many advantages over steel, such as high strength and durability (non-corrosive). While FRP reinforcement is mainly used in bridges, there is enormous potential for its use in multi-storey buildings, parking garages and industrial structures. |
