Abstract | Hundreds of volatile chemical compounds are emitted from building materials, having different levels of toxicity and a wide range of concentrations. Their chemical and physical properties can be very different. The chemical analysis to identify and to quantify all of them could be very complex and expensive. Therefore, an analytical methodology has to set practical and economical criteria within the scope of its application. |
