Abstract
Roofing technology and design have undergone major advancement in the last four decades. Roofs have a greater purpose now. Apart from keeping unpleasant weather out of the building, they are shaping the livability of the buildings by serving as a platform for energy harvesting, energy efficiency, and climate adaptation. The ASTM International Technical Committee D08 on Roofing and Waterproofing is advancing the multifaceted and modern design of roofs through the promotion of knowledge, stimulation of research, and development of standards.
