In this paper, an analytical means has been developed to estimate the motion of mush ice produced by a ship intrusion. A solid body of simple geometry is considered to penetrate into a mush ice field at constant velocity. The mush ice is assumed to be homogeneous and isotropic and behaves under pressure as a visco-plastic substance. A mathematical model for the ice motion has been constructed to satisfy the boundary conditions. Pathlines and velocity of the ice flow over solid surface are illustrated.
