| Abstract | This report, relating directly to the ongoing study of the performance of lifeboats in ice, will discuss the design, procedure, and the results of an experiment that was completed to simulate a major ice impact event. The goal of these tests was to develop a rough estimate of the impact pressure experienced during an impact event. These estimates of impact pressure will then be used to determine the viability of a surface pressure sensor that was being proposed for use on the lifeboat during testing. |
