| Abstract | The NAE Twin Otter aircraft, Instrumented for cloud physics research in cooperation Vith the Atmospheric Environment Senrice; was used a series Of exploratory flights to measure cloud microphysical data natural i cing clouds . These flights were made in support Of helicopter icing trials being performed by the British Aeroplane and Armament Experimental Establishment. report summarizes NAE participation in these trials. An important requirement for these tests was the determination of exact ground tracks for each flight . The development of a flight track plotting routine for the Twin Otter and '1—33 atmospheric research aircraft is docunented Vith example data from the helicopter icing trials. |
