| Abstract | The present Editorial chronicles the journey from classical infrared and Raman spectroscopy to medical vibrational spectroscopy, as experienced by a contemporary witness of the times. During the second half of the last century vibrational biospectroscopy became a topic of increasing global interest and has spawned a number of international conferences of which the most recent, SPEC 2012 – Shedding New Light on Disease, constitutes the basis of the present themed issue. |
