| Abstract | The Engine Laboratory, National Research Council Canada (NRCC) accepted the task of analysing fuel flow-related data from all participants of the Uniform Engine Test Program. These data were measured on a J57 engine in altitude and sea-level test cells. Analyses sought:
• to establish the relative quality of fuel flow data acquisition and reduction;
• to determine whether any engine deterioration took place during the program;
• to examine fuel property analyses from participants and NRCC for possible differences; and
• to compare fuel flow and engine performance data submitted by the participants.
The results showed that the objective of accurate fuel flow measurement, under all test conditions was met with varying success by the program participants. A limited assessment of deterioration during the program was Inconclusive. Most comparisons among facility fuel flow data showed variations of ±1.0 to 11.5% about a mean value. |
