Abstract | The present method of shear testing at IMD is the hole and punch method. Experimental data has shown that shear strength values are influenced by specimen surface area and brine drainage using the present shear testing procedure. The influence of specimen surface area and brine drainage on shear strength could be eliminated using an in-situ procedure. An in-situ testing device has been designed. |
