| Abstract | A simplified model of the mixing process in turbo-fan engines is examined, and while qualitatively useful this is found to have serious shortcomings. A more rigorous approach, using the N.R.C. Jet Engine Design Point computer program is presented, and a design procedure working to a limiting tailpipe area is suggested. |
