| Abstract | The DART is in upward looking profiler designed and built by C-CORE for the ice tank at the Institute for Marine Dynamics. It utilises a swept frequency or 'chirp' waveform to provide high resolution measurements of the underside of ice rubble. Six projector/hydrophone pairs are mounted on the underwater video carriage of the tank. During a data collection, this carriage is moved along the bottom of the tank allowing the transducers to move beneath the ice and acquire data which can be post-processed to produced continuous ice rubble profiles. The DART is a self-contained unit which can produce ridge or rubble profiles within minutes of data acquisition. |
