| Abstract | The exhaust flow from a free-piston gasifier was measured by a conventional method, using a standard orifice or nozzle. It was observed that fouling of the measuring devices falsifies the readings. The deviation from the true flow for the nozzle is opposite to that for the orifice. An explanation of the observed behaviour is offered, and a method for correcting the readings suggested. |
