This report compares two types of ice used in the ice tank at the Institute for Ocean Technology. The structure of both seeded and unseeded ice is described, as well as the preparation methods for both. The mechanical properties of both types of ice are discussed and compared. Finally, a explanation will be given as to why the mechanical properties differ for seeded and unseeded ice.
