| Abstract | The following report details a set of experiments carried out at the Institute for Marine Dynamics in May and June of 1994 to determine the stability of raw wet peat as a bulk cargo. The purpose of these experiments was to determine the moisture content level at which the peat would liquify and exhibit a free surface effect. Such an effect would be a hazard to the vessel carrying the peat. |
