| Abstract | Contained within this report is a detailed description of work completed for Dr. Piotr Waclawek during the period of August 30, 1999 to December 17, 1999. The primary focus is upon the design of a new Graphical User Interface (GUI) for the NavSim software program. The new GUI will replace an existing one that was developed with older software and a restricted number of tools available at the time of its development. The goal of this design is to develop an entirely new interface for the NavSim program that is clean, intuitive and up-to-date. This was accomplished through the use of a new version of the software originally used to develop the program. Many of the important new features, as well as limitations, of the new development software, Matlab 6 (Release 12) Beta 2, are described within this report. The main topic of the report, however, centers on the design process for the new GUI and the challenges presented during its creation. |
