| Abstract | Simplified procedures are described in detail for the production and isolation of valinomycin. Mycelium of Streptomyces sp. PRL 1642, grown in stationary culture, was extracted with methanol and the extract was chromatographed on a column of aluminum oxide. Valinomycin was recovered from the eluate and purified by washing and crystallization. |
