Abstract | It is largely upon the new knowledge of fire engineering that the fire requirements of the National Building Code are based. The requirements are a refinement over previous regulations and make possible the design of buildings which have greater fire safety provided at less cost than has previously been possible. An understanding of the terms used and the functions that have been developed as a result of research is desirable if these regulations are to be applied to best advantage. |
