| Abstract | The flexibility and accuracy of using a force balance to measure the loads acting on a 2D section of a wind turbine blade is investigated. To convert the forces acting on the model to sectional values, correction factors are determined as a function of surface roughness and model shape. The influence of splitter plates and seals between model and turntable are investigated to reduce end effects. |
