| Abstract | Following the installation of a new exhaust silencer in a gas turbine test cell, the cell's former airflow characteristics had to be reestablished. Various methods for estimating total cell airflow were reviewed and compared. As a means of adjusting this airflow, a variable position flow spoiler was designed, built, and installed in the exhaust collector. Two independent methods of airflow estimation were used to determine a spoiler position which would reproduce the original cell airflow characteristics. The cell airflow augmentation ratio (total cell airflow to engine flow) was used as the correlating parameter. |
