Abstract | The effects of fuel injection locations on the combustion instability have been investigated with a lean premixed gas turbine combustor. Fuel injection holes on the center body of the nozzle were shifted along the axial direction to change both characteristic times of fuel mixing and convective delay simultaneously. Results show that thermal-acoustic instability can be suppressed by optimizing injection location to 'out-of-phase' region for a specific resonant frequency with maintaining NOx emission level. |
