Abstract | This paper presents a Matlab model of an auto-synchronizing variable-resolution laser scanner. The model simulates the optical path of the laser through the scanner to the target surface and the image path from the target surface to the CCD array. The environment and the position of the scanner at any point in time in the environment are also modeled. Results obtained after calibrating the system to an actual laser scanner prototype closely match the data collected using that scanner. |
