Abstract | This paper investigates the physical properties of floating ice covers produced at normal gravity (1g) and at an inertial acceleration equivalent to 50 times gravity (50g), from water with different salt concentrations. The experiments were conducted in a dry-ice cold box. No significant difference in grain size was observed in the ice produced at 1g and 50g. Salinity profiles and bulk ice density varied with the level of inertial acceleration. |
