Abstract
Non-sorted circles are a common frost feature in Norway and various forms are reported from many lands under severl names. The examples considered in this paper are a fairly well defined group for which the term stony earth circles is suggested by the present author as being descriptive, while conveniently fitting into Washburn's scheme of classification.
